How to warm your whole body using ear acupressure

This is one of our popular instagram posts for May 2022. For the purposes of this article, we’ve used the terms ‘ear acupressure’ and ‘ear massage’ interchangeably. In this instance, they are refering to the same technique used.

How does using Ear acupressure help the whole body?

The whole body can be treated using only the points on the ears. In the clinic we may use ear acupuncture points in your acupuncture session to reinforce the body points we’ve used.

When we promote Qi and Blood flow around the body, we are activating the circulation around the whole body. Qi and Blood carry the warmth with them as they circulate throughout the body. When we are stimulating the whole ear, we are encouraging circulation and warmth around the whole body.

How do you stimulate the ears?

Follow the images and instructions below:

Step one: Rub both earlobes with your thumbs and index fingers until the earlobes feel warm

Step two: Gently grasp your earlobes between your thumbs and pointer fingers. Gently tug your earlobes downward and let it spring upwards naturally. Repeat 15-20 times

Step three: Finish by gently pinching the ear cartlidge at the top of the ear between your finger and thumbs. Gently stroke from the top of the ear, around the cartilage down to your earlobe. Repeat this action for 1 minute.
