Acupuncture support for starting a family

Becoming pregnant can sometimes be a frustrating, expensive and emotionally draining process; however in a perfect world this should never be the case.

At Bing's Natural Health we are passionate about dads, mums and babies' health and we have extensive and solid experience in supporting the pregnancy process and all that it involves. Our approach is to empower women and partners to navigate the journey of becoming parents in the healthiest, smoothest and most comfortable way.

We know that each woman's body is different, and that is the reason why our approach is personalised and dynamic - we focus on your individual needs and circumstances.

Whether you are trying to become pregnant naturally or are currently undergoing IVF, we are committed to supporting your life-changing decision with empathy, care and quality service.

The use of acupuncture and other Chinese Medicine techniques may be able to assist you with:

  • Regulating your menstrual cycle

  • Increasing circulation to your uterus and ovaries

  • Promoting ovulation

  • Decreasing the levels of hormones related to stress

Let’s work together

At Bing's Natural Health, we suggest that a 3-month preconception program is set in place for optimising your outcome.

Our program includes:

  1. Pre-conception - we would like to see you weekly or fortnightly for 3 months/ menstrual cycles to work on the above aspects of your health

  2. 1st trimester: Once you are pregnant, weekly or fortnightly acupuncture visits for the next 12 weeks are suitable to help manage symptoms like queasiness, morning sickness and/or fatigue.

  3. 2nd trimester: Between weeks 13 and until week 35, we recommend monthly check-ups. You can book in more frequently if you continue to have morning sickness throughout this stage, or if there is something else concerning you, in which case please give us a call immediately. We can discuss your concerns over the phone to see if you need to come in for some extra acupuncture sessions.

  4. 3rd trimester: In week 36 we recommend that you visit us so we can review your pregnancy. We then proceed to begin a pre-labor preparation program if appropriate. This helps in building your stamina, reducing stress, addressing any aches or pains you may have. Acupuncture may also be helpful to assist you in having a smooth natural delivery.

  5. Should you have a breech or posterior presentation, please discuss the condition with your practitioner immediately. Moxa and acupuncture treatment is recommended and may prove to be helpful.

  6. Postnatal sessions: This is a topic for a separate blogpost. But briefly, we recommend you come in 2 weeks after the birth of your baby. Acupuncture and Chinese herbs may be helpful for maintaining/ increasing breastmilk production, boosting energy and helping support you emotionally during this time.
