Chinese medicine, herbs and acupuncture, when used together treat the whole body. Acupuncture is more instant, and an effect may be noticed after the first session. Herbs work on the inside, supporting the acupuncture treatment whilst strengthening and supporting the internal foundations of the body.
I studied Chinese Medicine at the St Albans campus of Victoria University. I completed my studies in 2008. Throughout my learning, I was amazed at the different methods used in this practice. The acupuncture appealed to me, and Chinese Medicine also involves so much more: herbs, massage, moxibustion, and sometimes just the time to listen to a client. The patient is seen as the whole and not only a disorder or a disease.
The treatment involved is individualised. The diagnosis and treatment plan is unique for each person – “tailor made” – and not a blanket treatment according to the symptoms presented.
My special interests are:-
Pain relief and management – knee and elbow, back, neck and shoulder pain, headache and migraine, pinched nerves
Female health – fertility, IVF support, PCOS, menstrual disorders, menopause, hormonal disorders
Digestive disorders – IBS, constipation, diarrhoea
Mental/emotional problems – anxiety, depression, Bell’s Palsy
Facial enhancement therapy – is the prevention or treatment that focuses on fine lines and wrinkles, drooping and discolouration of the face. In a treatment, body points are used to promote energy and blood flow. Finer needles are used to target specific areas of the face. The results are not seen immediately. Benefits can be noticed after a few sessions, and because we are using your own energy to heal, these positive effects are long term.
For the past 4 years I have volunteered my services and time at the Sacred heart, hands on Health clinic in St kilda. For a small fee, the clients can receive a number of therapies; acupuncture being one of them. I find this very rewarding, giving back to the community and giving to those that may not have a chance to experience acupuncture. The difference a sinle treatment can make to some of these people is amazing.
I am a fully qualified and registered Acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Practitioner.
