Remedies If You Have Eaten and Drunk Too Much…


If you have eaten and drunk too much, these simple teas and drunk remedies will help speed your recovery.

Reduce Effects of Too Much Food & Alcohol beforehand:  wash a persimmon then eat before the party. It will also speed your recovery afterwards.

Drunkenness or overeating:  drink strong black tea with no milk or sugar, to clear breath and counteract the acid in your system.   Boil one apple’s peel for 5-10 minutes, drink the resulting tea and eat the peel before and/or after your party.

Hangover drunk remedies:  congee is a Chinese rice porridge that is easy to make by cooking 1 cup of rice for at least one hour, in 9 cups of water, with a teaspoon of salt. Stir frequently, until it has a creamy, thick texture.

Too Much Rich Food:  eat black olives and pickled vegetables, then eat a lot of watermelon. This acts as a natural diuretic and laxative and speeds your digestion.

Food Poisoning: 10 tsp mung bean flour, 6 pieces liquorice bark. Boil, then drink the resulting tea. This will help your body get rid of the poison more quickly.
